Liverpool in a three-way transfer battle for Sebastien Haller

Liverpool have joined the race with Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan for the signing of Ajax striker Sebastien Haller, as per a report from Fichajes.

Haller has grown in stature since leaving West Ham United, establishing himself as one of the most prolific scorers in Europe at Ajax.

The Ivory Coast striker has racked up 33 goals and nine assists across all competitions this season.

His terrific form has turned the heads of top European clubs, with Italian champions Inter reportedly meeting his agent to discuss a summer move.

The Nerazzurri are looking to bolster their attacking options, and Ajax are holding out for €35 million for their star forward.

Dortmund have been continuing their search for a replacement for Erling Braut Haaland, who is likely to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer.

While their talks with top target Karim Adeyemi have stalled, Die Borussen have identified Haller as an alternative option for the RB Salzburg star.

Dortmund are likely to generate around €70m from Haaland’s sale and can meet Haller’s valuation.

Liverpool may also seek attacking reinforcements, with Divock Origi nearing a move to AC Milan.

Diogo Jota has made the centre-forward position his own this season while dethroning Robert Firmino.

Haller is adept with the ball at his feet and in the air and could be a great addition to provide competition for the unstoppable Portuguese forward.

However, having already spent considerable money on Luis Diaz in January, the Reds are unlikely to go for another marquee signing.
