Real Madrid identify Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah as Kylian Mbappe alternative

Real Madrid will look to sign Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah if their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe falls through, reports Fichajes.

Mbappe continues to be a priority for Los Blancos with his contract due to expire this summer.

However, recent reports have suggested that PSG are preparing a whopping new deal for Mbappe – which could make him the world’s highest-paid footballer – in a bid to fend off interest from the Spanish giants.

With growing uncertainty over the French World Cup winner, Madrid have turned their attention towards Salah.

The Reds forward is arguably one of the best players in the world, having racked up 25 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.

Madrid are looking to take advantage of Salah’s contract stand-off with the Merseysiders.

The Egyptian international’s current deal expires in the summer of 2023, and he reportedly wants to be the Reds’ highest-paid player.

The 30-year-old has also stated multiple times that he wants to continue playing for Liverpool, but the final decision over his future rests with the club.

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland is another target for Los Merengues, but there will be massive competition for his signature, with Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG interested.

Madrid’s arch-rivals Barca have also registered their interest in Salah as Xavi is a huge admirer.
