Barcelona youngsters Gavi and Ronald Araujo have told Xavi Hernandez they want to stay at the Nou Camp, as per a report from Diario Sport.
The Catalans are keen on securing the future of the young duo, who has become an integral part of the club this season.
Concerns arose after reports stated that Barca had failed to find a breakthrough in their renewal talks with Gavi and Araujo, with the duo’s current deals running out in 2023.
However, the La Masia graduates are seemingly not interested in moving away from the Nou Camp as they have made success at the club a priority.
Gavi has been a revelation for Barca this season, racking up two goals and three assists in 18 La Liga appearances.
The 17-year-old also broke into the Spanish national team during the Nations League campaign last year, starring in the semi-finals and finals.
He was also on target in Barca’s recent 4-2 win against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
Araujo has established himself in defence, making 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
The 22-year-old, who has also become a key member of the Uruguayan national team, has often struggled with injuries, but it has not affected his performances.
Like Gavi, Araujo also found the scoresheet against Atletico on Sunday.
Barca’s financial crisis might be delaying their efforts to tie Araujo and Gavi to long-term deals, but they are confident they can see it through.
