Barcelona table lucrative offer for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic

Barcelona have set their sights on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, whose contract expires this summer.

Inter are keen to secure the future of the Croatian playmaker and have reportedly offered a new four-year deal with a salary of €6 million per season.

However, Barca’s offer is lucrative as they have submitted a bid worth €8m, according to Italian outlet La Repubblica.

The report also adds that Brozovic’s head could turn towards the Catalan giants, but Inter are confident they can convince him to stay at San Siro.

The 29-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Croatia’s talent factory Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 and has since been an integral part of the midfield.

Brozovic was pivotal in the Scudetto winning campaign last season. He has also been regular under Simone Inzaghi this term, helping Inter stay at the top of the Serie A table.

Barca could be in the market for a new midfielder to succeed Sergio Busquets.

The Blaugrana skipper continues to deliver his best, but he is in the twilight of his career.

Although Barca boast a handful of talented midfielders, a player of Brozovic’s class and experience is hard to resist.

The Croatian has become one of the best defensive midfielders in Serie A over the years, producing consistent impressive performances.

He possesses the same qualities as Busquets and could quickly adapt to Xavi’s style of play.

Despite their financial crisis, Barca have been exceptional in terms of transfer business, signing Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Adding Brozovic to their ranks on a free transfer would be another great piece of business from the Blaugrana.
