The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup has been completed.
Three of the 16 fourth round fixtures are still yet to be played at the time of writing. Liverpool will face Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest host holders Leicester City, and Bournemouth clash with non-league Boreham Wood.
The big story of the round so far came at Old Trafford. Manchester United suffered their earliest FA Cup exit since 2014, losing to Championship side Middlesbrough on penalties.
Three other Premier League clubs were eliminated. Brentford lost to Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to defeat against Norwich City, and Tottenham Hotspur knocked out Brighton & Hove Albion. This leaves a maximum of ten top-flight teams in the last 16.
Chelsea suffered a scare against Plymouth Argyle but made it through after extra time. Manchester City went behind early on at home to Fulham but hit back quickly and progressed without too many problems.
Kidderminster Harriers were cruelly knocked out by West Ham United thanks to injury-time goals by Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen. This leaves Boreham Wood as the only non-league side left in the competition.
There will be a maximum of two all-Premier League ties in the fifth round. Southampton will welcome West Ham to St. Mary’s, while Liverpool will face Norwich City at home if they manage to beat Cardiff City.
The fixtures will be played between March 4-7, 2022.
