Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the venue as Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion go head-to-head in an exciting FA Cup fourth-round tie, and you can watch all FA Cup games live online

Spurs headed into January’s international break on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Chelsea, their first Premier League loss under the stewardship of Antonio Conte.

Conte’s men have blown hot and cold in 2022, alternating between victories and defeats across their six outings in all competitions (W3, L3).

With the Premier League title already well beyond the realms of possibility, the FA Cup is Tottenham’s solitary shot at lifting their first major trophy since 2007/08 and their first FA Cup title since 1991.

Brighton, who drew three consecutive top-flight games on the eve of the international break, will be looking to throw a spanner in the works and extend their unbeaten run on the road to seven matches (W2, D4).

Five of the Seagulls’ last five away fixtures across all competitions have yielded an identical 1-1 scoreline in regulation time, highlighting their ability to keep their games competitive.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion Head-to-Head

Tottenham’s most recent encounter against Brighton saw them fall to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium back in January 2021, with their Premier League match in December postponed due to COVID-19.

However, Spurs have been nothing short of exceptional against the Seagulls at home, winning each of their last seven H2H meetings in London.

Adding to Tottenham’s confidence, they came out on top of their only previous FA Cup encounter against Brighton, eking out a 2-1 victory in the 2004/05 third round.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Tottenham may have struggled with inconsistent performances at the beginning of the new calendar year, but they have been impressive at home.

Barring a 1-0 loss at the hands of Chelsea in the return leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie, Spurs have won seven of their remaining eight competitive home outings under Conte (D1).

The Italian manager has sparked Tottenham’s attacking set-up into life since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm, with the Londoners averaging 2.22 goals per home match under his tutelage.

Spurs have advanced to the FA Cup fifth round in four of their last five attempts, with a 2-1 elimination at the hands of Crystal Palace in 2018/19 the solitary exception.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Graham Potter’s men have not lost a single fixture since the turn of the year (W1, D4 – 90 mins only) despite conceding the opening goal in their last four competitive matches.

However, they have picked up just two victories in their last nine FA Cup encounters against Premier League sides (D1, L6).

Since being held to a scoreless draw at Norwich City in mid-October, the Seagulls have failed to keep a clean sheet in their subsequent nine competitive away games.

But they can still find consolation in the fact that they only drew a blank once in that nine-game sequence, scoring 2+ goals four times in the process.
