Juventus keeping tabs on Chelsea’s Jorginho and Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong

Juventus are monitoring the situation of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho and Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, claims a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri have identified Jorginho as a primary target for the summer, with his contract running out in 2023.

Jorginho enjoyed a prolific 2021, winning the Champions League with Chelsea and the European Championships with Italy.

While the 30-year-old continues to be a key cog in midfield, the Londoners could opt against extending his contract given his age.

The Turin giants tried to sign Jorginho during Maurizio Sarri’s reign but to no avail. The midfielder’s agent also previously revealed Juve’s interest.

Juventus have identified de Jong as an alternative if they fail to persuade Jorginho to leave Stamford Bridge.

De Jong’s struggles under Xavi has sparked exit speculation, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City posing as potential suitors.

Chelsea have also expressed an interest in signing the Netherlands international.

However, the Catalan giants have no intentions of selling the Dutch midfielder in January, with Xavi praising de Jong for his winning goal against Alaves in La Liga last week.

Juve have a handful of players facing an uncertain future at the Allianz Stadium. Allegri recently confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will leave in January, while midfielders Rodrigo Bentancur and Arthur have been linked with moves to Premier League.

Paulo Dybala’s contract stand-off also continues to be a topic of hot debate, with his current deal expiring this summer.

Juve have regrouped well following a struggling start to this season’s Serie A. They are currently fifth in the Serie A table with 42 points, trailing Atalanta by a point.
