Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has provided an update on the futures of Aaron Ramsey and Alvaro Morata.

Ramsey has played just 112 minutes of first-team football this term, and he has been deemed surplus to requirements.

The Welshman has been linked with a Premier League return, and Allegri has confirmed that he is on his way out.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata has been tipped to join Barcelona with suggestions that personal terms have been agreed.

The Bianconeri boss dismissed the speculation citing that he has told the striker that he will be staying.

He told reporters: “Ramsey is on the way out of Juventus.

“I think that the squad will 99 percent remain what it is right now.

“I told Alvaro that he is staying here – he is not leaving Juventus, end of story.”

Football Today verdict:

Ramsey joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer in 2019, but he has failed to establish himself as a regular.

Injuries have hampered him for the best part of a decade, and the trend has continued with the Turin giants.

Even when he has been fit, he has been regularly ignored. It appears the right time to move on from the club.

With Wales due to play the World Cup play-offs in March, Ramsey needs regular minutes to prepare for the challenge.

It has been a different story for Morata, who has been a consistent starter for the Bianconeri in all competitions.

His return has not been overly exceptional with only seven goals from 23 games, but Allegri values him highly.

The 29-year-old has recently picked up form with three goals in five league outings to repay the manager’s faith.

Barcelona are eyeing a new centre-forward this month after Sergio Aguero’s early retirement due to a heart problem.

They may need to look elsewhere with Allegri clear over his stance on Morata’s situation.
