Borussia Dortmund favourites to sign Liverpool-linked Karim Adeyemi

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have emerged as favourites to sign Karim Adeyemi next year.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a superb season with Red Bull Salzburg, bagging 15 goals from 27 appearances.

He has been linked with Liverpool and Bayern Munich recently, but Dortmund are favourites to sign him.

According to Goal, the youngster has chosen Dortmund as his next club as they are ideal for his development.

He is prepared to follow in the footsteps of Erling Braut Haaland, who left Salzburg for Dortmund in January 2020.

Adeyemi is one of the hottest young talents in European football. It is only a matter of time before he leaves Salzburg.

He has played a key role in the club’s progress to the Champions League knockout stage and could stay for the campaign.

However, Dortmund may ideally want to sign him at the turn of the year so he can adapt to German football.

The club are braced for the departure of Haaland next summer when his £68 million release clause becomes active.

Adeyemi is a different type of player, but he could be seen as a potential replacement for the Norwegian.

A winter deal would prove perfect for Dortmund as they can ease him into the proceedings ahead of next season.

Adeyemi is contracted to Salzburg until June 2024. The club are looking for around £34m to sanction his exit.
