Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa fans enjoyed their Saturday afternoon as their respective teams recorded victories in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, Brighton & Hove Albion supporters appear to be getting ideas above their station after booing the players off the pitch following their goalless draw with Leeds United.
Manager Graham Potter was annoyed with the reaction and rightly dug out the fans in his post-match interview. Speaking of post-match interviews…
Howe is kidding himself
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe was in a defensive mood after watching his team slip to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal yesterday.
The Gunners’ fans mercilessly ridiculed their opponents about their dismal form by changing ‘you’re rich, but you’re f****** s***’.
Howe was quizzed about the taunts after the match and oddly claimed that Newcastle have ‘got some very good players’.
Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson aside, Newcastle’s squad is a mess. Howe is kidding himself if he thinks any differently.
Arteta gamble pays off
Newcastle were the ideal opponents for an Arsenal side bidding to bounce back from their mauling at Liverpool last weekend.
Manager Mikel Arteta gambled with his team selection, keeping faith with youngsters Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares.
The pair struggled badly at Anfield, but Arteta resisted the temptation to pull them out of the firing line and was duly rewarded.
Lokonga was particularly impressive, dominating proceedings in the middle of the park alongside Thomas Partey.
